Lat weekend I played three solo shows. I have been trying to keep my calendar full and it seems I am performing solo more and more. I never used to like it before I got myself a looping unit. I always prefer being able to jam with someone. I am more comfortable working and improvising of what is being played along with me. With the looper I am able to do that with myself. The looper allows me to record the songs chord progression as I am performing it. As long as I hit the “stop” in that same spot (or on the same down beat) as I started it, it will repeat the progression until I choose to stop it. Once the progression is looping, I can add some percussion using the palm of my hand and some sweet spots on the guitar. I then usually add some bass using an octave peddle. Obviously the key to all this is to perform songs that have a repetitive chord progression. Anyway, I have a lot of fun at these shows; I can be very high energy depending on the crowd and venue. I hope you will come check it out some time. I will be performing every Wednesday at The Underground Pub in The Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, MA starting in Dec. I am also performing at Friends Grille in Pittsfield on The 1st & 3rd Thursdays and at The Mill Town Tavern in Dalton, MA on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays. Hope to see some of you at the shows
Welcome
Welcome to the new Blog. I will try to keep this updated regularly with news, set lists and my insights on the musical happenings around me. This is totally interactive; you are invited to comment on all that is posted here. There is a link at the bottom of the page. It has been a while since we had a forum on here where we could interact. I look forward to the conversation and feedback. Welcome back!

REV TOR 2007 NEWSLETTER
Happy New Year everyone! I want to thank everyone who made 2006 such an incredible year for Rev Tor Band. We celebrated the band’s 10 year anniversary all year long! It was an amazing and fun ride! Thank you to everyone who performed and worked with the band!!! Most of all, big thanks to ALL OF YOU for your love and support.
2007
With this new year in front of us, I want to take this opportunity to let you all know about some of the exiting things we have in store for 2007.
A NEW LINE UP
As we ushered in the new year at The Berkshire Blues Café, we débuted the new line up to the hometown crew for the 1st time. We welcome Coner Meehan behind the kit. Coner has done stints with Albert Cummings, Catfish Blue and is fresh of a world tour with Sonya Kitchell, He is truly a master of the groove and a refreshing addition to the mix. You have got to come out and hear this guy play! Dan Broad has returned to the band on Bass. Dan along with myself founded the band 11 years ago but our musical history goes back even further. This year Dan and I will celebrate 20 years of making music together. Since he left the band in 1998 he has performed and recorded with many of the regions finest. He toured nationally with Albert Cummings (alongside Coner for a few years) and has shared the stage with blues legends like BB King and Johnny Winter. Dan’s return to the band brings our collective musical experience together full circle. Coner & Dan join myself on guitar and long time Rev Tor Band veteran Scott Guberman on keys. Scott continues to amaze me every time we play. The guy just keeps getting better! Outside of his time with RTB Scott has performed in many musical situations including a few national tours with the late Vince Welnick of The Grateful Dead. He is always bringing home tasty musical nuggets of influence for us to feed on. The exiting thing about this line up is it feels and sounds like we have been playing together for a long time. In a sense we have. There is so much history between us individually that when we bring it all together collectively it just makes sense.
NEW CDs
This month we start work on a new Rev Tor studio recording. There are 13 new songs, many of witch you have heard live and a few you may have not. The CD will feature the new line up along with some friends from our extended musical family including Mark Mercier of Max Creek. We will also release a new live CD from our two late night cabin performances at Wormtown’s Strange Creek & Garden Of Eden Fests last year.
REV TOR TEAMS WITH BRIGHTER DAZE
We are very exited to announce that Brighter Daze (under new ownership) will be exclusively handling our merchandise at the shows. Along with our CDs, T’s and stickers they will have a wide variety of goodies including jewelry and clothing for you to check out. Look for their table at all Rev Tor shows. We can’t give enough thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us last night. All the former and current members, The Flipper boys, Mr. Paradis and Mr. Fuzz!! Everyone just rocked!!!! It was amazing to see so many familiar and new faces in the crowd. We are so honored that you all came out to be with us last night. We also want to thank Darren and the La Cocina staff for going the extra mile, and making us all feel so welcome.
I personally want to thank everyone who has supported me and all the incarnations of RTB over the past ten years. Our manager Amy Feld has been with me from the start and her dedication and love for this band often goes unsung. She is the behind the scenes driving force that keeps this beast called Rev Tor Band moving forward. I love you Amy, you’re the best!
